Thomas Sheridan wed on 6/5/1841 to Mary Mason at St Patrick's Roman Catholic, Parramatta, 'Mary came out to Australia from Ireland, aged 26 on the ship CHINA arriving in Sydney 20/12/1839'. The Masons came from Cashel/Cahir, Ireland.
Her parents were John Mason and Johanna Quigley. She had siblings, John (g/grandfather of Robyn), Oliver, Patrick, Johanna, Margaret and we believe a young brother aged 6 at the time of arrival named Daniel.
Thomas b.1818, died by drowning on 11/8/1858 in Eaglehawk in Victoria and Mary later moved to Tamworth, where she died.

From The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (Sat 21 Dec 1839) China sailed from Waterford (Ireland) on 28 July and Cape of Good Hope on 17 Oct, with Captain Phillips and Passenger from the Cape was Captain Jobling of the 104th Regiment, Lady and 3 chn.
Also arrived was the ship Euphrates which left the Cape on 26 Oct, paper names 26 Cabin, 10 Intermediate and 12 Steerage passengers
