Thanks Elizabeth for all of your work.
My maiden name is Priestly, John George Priestley was my GG Grandfather, apparently later he married a Mary Allen. The only record I can find at the moment is that a John George Priestley was son of John Priestley and his wife was called Maria Ballard she was born about 1800 M 1820.

Answer in part -
I checked the spelling, and in the NSW version, they are Priestley, in the Disposal Records made by Melbourne it is Priestly.

From on Sunday, 23 January, 2011

Hello Elizabeth,
I came across your website whilst researching our ancestors arriving on the Royal Saxon in 1841. The surname that I am researching is PURCELL and I think the John Purcell listed is my husbandís great-great grandfather as we have a certificate showing he came from Templemore (although as listed it says Templeman) and the age fits right with him.
There is also a reference to a Joseph Purcell and I am trying to find out if they were possibly brothers.

I have come across this from Bravenet Forum, a genealogy chat board site, but this may explain the Joseph Purcell:
Valentine Hoare born 1815 in Templemore left Ireland in 1841 using the alias Joseph Purcell. He travelled to Australia with Anastasia Ford. They married in 1845 in Geelong. They had a total of 10 children together. I am a descendent of Ann Hoare / Purcell born 1861. Valentine / Joseph died in Geelong in 1861.
I tried to contact Ruth Warren, who sent this query but the email bounced back.
