| Sarah McHaig was lost near Currency Creek and her remains were reported found in The Port Phillip Herald, Tue 26 Sep 1843, after she had been missing over 2 years. She left a message for her sister Elizabeth, in a book found beside her bones. The girls and their parents came from Clendrie, parish of Inch, Wigtownshire in Scotland about 4 years ago. |

| Daniel McIntosh took over the license of the British Hotel from George Aitcheson in early March 1853. He was still described as a Victualler at his death in May 1856 although it appears the license was transferred to his brother-in-law James Woodside in April 1855. Daniel McIntosh's widow Martha Love Woodside married John Lord of the Young Queen Inn (or Hotel), Sydney Road, "Spring Vale, Dry Creek".
