| William Kyle aged 8, arrived on the Thomas Arbuthnot in October 1841. William married Sarah Ann Lobb in 1854 and they had nine children in Brunswick, Kilmore, Kal Kallo and Echuca. A grandson of William's is Albert Roy Kyle who at the age of 98 in 1995 was still living in Belmont, Geelong. William Kyle's memories are recorded of encounters with the Wurundjeri people, including the battle that took place in 1843-4 between tribes from the Yarra Yarra, Goulburn River and River Plenty on one side and the tribes from Lal Lal, Barrabool Hills and Corio on the other. |
