Edmund Hounsell the elder, and Edmund Hounsell the younger Date Tried: Dorset Lent Assizes, March 1843 Transported: Sir George Seymour 1844 (Edmund the younger) Source: Indictment File - gives date, location and victim of offence, along with the goods involved and their value, and their co-accused.
He may be the Edmund Hounsell mentioned on Nettlecomb site. George Biles born 1796 was the father of 11 children when he served a 1 year sentence in Dorchester Prison for poaching. He was arrested in March 1841 in Nettlecombe, Powerstock along with John and Edmund Hounsell and Joseph Legg. They were brought before the County Assizes charged with poaching, armed and shooting at Gamekeepers. All, except Joseph Legg (who admitted evidence and was acquitted) were sentenced to 1 year of hard labour. They were discharged on 5 March 1842.

The minutes of Proceedings and Register of NSW Medical Board Meeting of 30th May 1842 contained the following;
"An application was laid before the Board from Mr William Houston requesting his name be inserted in the list of "Legally qualified Medical Practitioners" and stating that his testimonials of qualifications and a Master of Surgery of the University of Glasgow had been lost by the Burning of the Emigrant Ship India of which he was Surgeon Superintendent, and this material was corroborated by his own affidavit and that of Mr Ramsay Hay. The Board agreed to receive the same and direct his name to be be inserted in the Government Gazette in the early part of July. William married Mary Ann Harris in 1845 and died in Sydney in 1868.
