I am married to Gary Hunt whose grandmother was Elizabeth Alice Gainger b. 1876, and I see EAG is daughter of Hannah Bevan wed 1874 to John Gainger born in Melbourne. John is son of Caroline Bennett and Richard Gainger but was born about 1846 so only a Christening record is possible.
We do not know when or how Richard arrived in Melbourne
